Position: Director of Regulatory Compliance
Unit: Compliance
Location: Dallas, TX
Shift: Monday - Friday, 40 hrs/week -- no call or weekends
Pay: $120 - $150/Hour
Job Description:
- Right-hand person to SVP/Chief Compliance Officer.
- Will work with SVP/Chief to document the current and proposed scope of compliance work.
- Document Proposed Scope and Structure: Clear documentation of current vs. proposed compliance scope and an updated structure outline.
- Define Roles and Action Plan: Role definitions and job descriptions for all positions in the updated structure. Action plan to transition from the current structure to the proposed structure.
Responsibilities
1. Leads the Compliance and Ethics Department, which is responsible for the ongoing development and assessment of the Compliance and Ethics Program. Responsible for ensuring that the department has adequate resources, with the requisite expertise and experience, and is properly structured.
2. Chairs facilities Executive Compliance Committee and is responsible for ensuring that it fulfills the mission and duties set forth in its charter.
3. Works closely with the chairperson of the GCE Committee of the Board to facilitate the fulfillment of the committee’s oversight responsibilities.
4. Prepares and presents periodic reports to the Board, the GCE Committee and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
5. Ensures that the Board and the SLT are timely informed of all significant compliance developments, including internal and external allegations and reports of concerns; regulatory and enforcement inquiries; and findings of internal compliance and its monitoring initiatives.
6. Along with the Chief Quality and Safety Officer, ensures that facility sustains and enhances, as determined necessary, the improvements implemented as part of the requirements of the Corporate Integrity Agreement with the OIG.
7. Ensures that the department, among things: a. Effectively performs compliance auditing and monitoring. b. Verifies the implementation of adequate corrective action plans as well as the implementation of such plans. c. Maintains an effective disclosure program. d. Investigates effectively all compliance-related allegations or reports. e. In collaboration with the Legal and Talent Management departments, enforces facility's Code of Conduct and Ethics through appropriate disciplinary measures. f. Develops, implements and periodically revises compliance policies, procedures and training programs including those related to non-retaliation.
8. With the General Counsel, leads the annual review of the Code and, as warranted, develops proposed revisions.
9. Leads the performance of an annual assessment of compliance risks and the annual development and implementation of a compliance work plan.
10. Collaborates effectively with facility’s partners including UT Southwestern.
Submission Requirements:
- min of 7 years experience in legal, healthcare compliance program or audit role
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- Must have professional certification in one of the following; Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Leadership Professional in Ethics & Compliance (LPEC)
