Job Summary:
We are seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator to oversee credentialing, privileging, and compliance for Rapid City Hospital’s Medical Staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare credentialing, regulatory compliance, and Joint Commission standards.
Position: Medical Staff Coordinator
- Location: Rapid City, SD
- Start Date: 02/17/2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with potential extension)
- Pay Rate: $2030 to $2070 Gross weekly
- Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM (No weekends or holidays)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Key Responsibilities:
Credentialing & Privileging: Manage credentialing and reappointment processes for physicians, dentists, and allied health professionals.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (TJC) and NCQA accreditation standards.
Medical Staff Support: Assist medical staff leadership with bylaws, proctorship, and peer review coordination.
Orientation & Onboarding: Develop and manage orientation programs for new medical staff members.
Database Management: Maintain and update records using Echo Credentialing software or Healthstream.
Survey & Audits: Coordinate responses to accreditation surveys and regulatory audits.
Policy Development: Assist in maintaining and revising medical staff policies.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration (Preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Staff Coordination (Required)
- 1 year in Regulatory Guidelines Compliance (Required)
- 2 years in healthcare credentialing (Preferred)
- Experience with Joint Commission (TJC) or NCQA Accreditation (Strongly Preferred)
- Proficiency in Echo Credentialing software or Healthstream (Preferred)
Certifications:
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) – Preferred
