Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Telemetry unit in Kalamazoo, MI. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to patients with a range of cardiac conditions, including Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Atrial Fibrillation (Afib), and more.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings for patients with cardiac conditions
- Perform procedures such as pulling arterial sheaths and managing IV medications (Cardizem, Nitro, Amio)
- Administer medications and treatments according to physicians’ orders
- Provide direct patient care, including assessments, interventions, and education
- Respond to medical emergencies in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement patient care plans
- Float to other Med-Surg units and ICUs as needed, including for med-surg assignments
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Registered Nurse in a telemetry setting
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Certification
