Who We Are

Our mission is to make the world programmable. Sight is one of the key ways we understand the world, and soon this will be true for the software we use, too.

At Roboflow, we’re building the tools, community, and resources needed to make the world programmable with artificial intelligence. Roboflow simplifies building and using computer vision models. Today, over 1M developers, including those from half the Fortune 100, use Roboflow’s machine learning open source and hosted tools. That includes counting cells to accelerate cancer research, improving construction site safety , digitizing floor plans , preserving coral reef populations , guiding drone flight , and much more .

Our team is small relative to our impact, and we believe our user success is our success (not the inverse). A team member summarized : “Roboflow is a company full of giant brains and tiny egos.” We find software has a multiplier effect on all roles (not only product and engineering), so Roboflow employs developers across the company in design, sales, customer support, marketing, and beyond.

We’re supported by great customers and investors, having raised over 63 million from Google Ventures, Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, Sam Altman, Lachy Groom, amongst other leading software investors.

What We're Looking For

Primarily, you like to make great things with passionate colleagues. You are someone that likes to own outcomes, not only inputs. You’re motivated by having responsibility and accountability. You’re eager to ‘do the work,’ big and small.

You’re curious and learning about new technologies, perhaps an early tinkerer with ChatGPT and AI products. You show more than you tell.

You’re motivated by the question, “How can I improve this?” and have a track record of doing so, even in ways adjacent to your role. Much of our current team is made up of former founders and thrive in the level of autonomy at Roboflow. Maybe you had a side hustle in high school or college.

Many Roboflowers have used our tools before joining. One of the best ways to stand out amongst other applicants is to write about something you have built with Roboflow or contribute to one of our open source projects.

What You'll Do

Roboflow is looking to hire an Analytics Engineer as we quickly scale our product-led growth motion. As the first analytics hire at the company, you will be responsible for ensuring our team is making smart decisions based on accurate and up-to-date data.

Tactically, that means :

  • You will own critical analyses and recommendations that inform our product and company strategy.
  • You will be embedded in core product teams and help drive day-to-day decisions with experiments and ad-hoc analysis.
  • You will establish canonical data sources that are trusted and used by others at Roboflow.
  • You will build dashboards and visualizations used by the whole product team to track performance against team initiatives.

Within a month, you will…

  • Spend a week onboarding in-person with your manager and other members of the Self Serve team.
  • Design and measure an onboarding experiment with our product team.
  • Uncover usage patterns or other insights that drive product improvements.
  • Architect and build canonical customer tables to serve as the foundation for future financial and product analytics at Robofow.
  • Within three months, you will…

  • Center our growth teams with actionable data and insights.
  • Implement a testing suite to enable product engineers to easily spin up tests and experiments.
  • Become a significant (data-supported) voice in product planning.
  • Uncover revenue opportunities that help the team meet steep 2025 growth targets.
  • Who You Are

First and foremost, you are thrilled to be the first analytics hire at Roboflow. This role will come with an opportunity to own and tackle multiple business-critical initiatives within your first couple of months.

Technically, we expect the ideal candidate to have demonstrated success across data engineering and business analysis. To break down all three parts of the job title :

    Data Engineering

  • You have strong proficiency with SQL and DBT.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
  • You are a strong communicator with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You’ve seen what good data architecture looks like and have strong opinions around how to implement our data products pipelines.
  • Business Analysis

  • You are the “data person” that your coworkers naturally look towards to bring analytics to product and business conversations.
  • You not only are successful at answering business questions, but you have a good nose for finding the right questions to ask.
  • You have served on a team which directly owned product or other business goals.
  • You like to move fast, and have a strong instinct for when an analysis calls for an emphasis on rigor and when it calls for speed.
  • The Interview Process

We anticipate our process taking most candidates 5-6 hours.

  • Introduction and screening call with Jacob Witt, the hiring manager for the role [30 minutes].
  • Take-home analytics exercise [estimated 2-3 hours].
  • Review the output of the take-home exercise [45 minutes].
  • Conversation with Brad Dwyer, our CTO [30 minutes].
  • Conversation with Joseph Nelson, our CEO [30 minutes].
  • Conversation with Kate Wagner, our Operations Lead [30 minutes].
  • Who You'll Be Working With

Our team of ~60 attracts talent like executives that wanted to return to building, founders with a 100M exit, Roboflow users turned team members, open source contributors, a cyclist who biked across the United States, prolific high school hackers, a CTO from 100 engineering organization, amongst many exceptional others.
