What are the responsibilities and job description for the Think Tank position at Cambridge Christian School Inc?
Title: Think Tank Instructor
Reports to: Director of Educational Services
Work Year: 10 Months
Position Focus: A Think Tank instructor services the qualifying students within the program which includes designing high-level units of interest incorporating STEM, coordinating with each teacher involved, developing each domain within units, training high-level thinkers to work cooperatively, communicating with parents, attending parent meetings, and coordinating with the Program Director.
Position Parameters
Provides spiritual and professional leadership to the students, parents and staff
- Role-models Christian behavior and spiritual growth
- Participates in book studies developed by the Program Coordinator
- Integrates Biblical truth strands within weekly sessions
Provides instruction and analyzes/evaluates development of individual students
- Develops unique, high-level units based on ACTS: Analytical thinking, Cooperative learning, Technology, and Strategic thinking
- Incorporates active learning techniques including, but not limited to, Harkness Discussions, 4 Corner Debates, Kagan Cooperative Learning Techniques, and Thinking Maps
- Includes Project-Based Learning for each grade level
- Trains students to go to deeper levels of thinking, instilling a growth mindset
- Assesses individual progress using rubrics allowing room for student goal setting
- Establishes and arranges field trips that will enhance the unit of study
- Communicates regularly with parents of each student including a semesterly report using the evaluation form provided and completed rubrics
- Maintains good communications and public relations with parents so as to ensure a strong home/school relationship including providing pictures regularly to showcase the activities within the sessions
- Keeps abreast of current trends in technology, incorporating these in sessions
- Attends faculty meetings and professional development required of teachers

- Develop students to view challenges with an interpretive, investigative, diagnostic, and detailed lens
- Develop students to foster an interdependent relationship with team members in solving problems
- Develop students to utilize technology in the process of research, organization, presentations, and robotics
- Develop students to recognize and develop strategic thinking, making correlations about our culture
- Develop students to perceive by means of a Biblical worldview
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an educational field or a field relating to academic needs
- Must have experience in training children in areas of science, math, and technology
- Must plan to continue to develop as a life-long learner, keeping acquainted with up-to-date trends/studies/theories/technologies
- Demonstrated ability to prepare lessons and perform tasks designed to challenge high-level thinkers
- A follower of Christ who is a member in good standing and actively serving in a Bible-believing church
