Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Educate students in various subjects while incorporating literacy education and childhood development principles.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Utilize standardized testing to assess student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide support for students with diverse needs, including those requiring speech therapy or behavioral health interventions.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters respect.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments and feedback.
- Collaborate with other educators to share best practices and enhance teaching methodologies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification preferred.
- Experience working with ESE students in a classroom setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of writing and implementing an IEP
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices.
- Strong proofreading skills for preparing instructional materials and assessments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with behavioral health strategies to support diverse learners is a plus.
