Position Summary :
The Director of Risk Assessment will report directly to the General Counsel and play a crucial role in managing and mitigating risks within our long-term care facilities across California. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in nursing administration and a deep understanding of state regulations and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the General Counsel to prepare legal analyses of clinical records.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
Ensure compliance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations and standards.
Oversee and evaluate staffing standards to ensure optimal care and compliance with state requirements.
Travel to various facilities throughout California to conduct on-site assessments and provide support.
Understand and apply workers' compensation standards and regulations to minimize liabilities.
Provide training and guidance to staff on risk management practices and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications :
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Nurse (LN) credentials.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the long-term care industry.
Proven experience in nursing administration within California.
In-depth knowledge of staffing standards and regulations in California.
Ability to assist General Counsel with legal analysis of clinical records.
Willingness to travel extensively within California.
Thorough understanding of workers' compensation standards and CDPH regulations.
