Description of Service Opportunity: 

This opportunity is for an individual to contribute to the facilitation of the CPS Induction & Mentoring program. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
> Contributing to the planning and facilitation of CPS teacher induction activities, which may include (but not necessarily be limited to) new-to-CPS orientation, new-to-CPS seminars, and other similar meetings related to to the induction of novice teachers to the expectations for proficient practice in the Cambridge Public Schools.
> Participating as a designee of the Office of Accountability in induction activities designed to support the professional growth of new teachers, such as onsite coaching meetings, providing feedback on reflection logs, etc.
> Contributing to the planning and facilitation of mentor meetings and related activities designed to support the professional growth and overall effectiveness of CPS teachers who are serving in the role of mentor teacher.
> Any additional related activity designed to enhance the overall impact and success of our district's induction and mentoring program.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 To serve as a CPS Teacher & Induction & Mentoring Program Facilitator, an educator must:
> Hold MA professional licensure.
> Hold professional teacher status (PTS) in the Cambridge Public Schools.
> Have served in a previous instructional leadership role at the school or district level, such as Lead Teacher, Lead Mentor, Instructional Coach, etc.
> Have demonstrated effective teaching practice in the classroom as shown by receiving a rating of at least proficient or exemplary on their most recent evaluation.
> Have demonstrated professional or academic experience related to adult learning in an educational context.
> Be an effective communicator and problem solver, especially when working with colleagues.
> Have demonstrated proficiency in a variety of pedagogical strategies/methods to meet a diverse range of learning needs.

 

Length of Contract:

September 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025

 

Contract Amount:

Flat Rate $2500.00
