What are the responsibilities and job description for the CRLS English Learner (EL) Summer Discovery: Art Teacher position at Cambridge Public Schools?
Description of Service Opportunity:
The Art teacher will teach English Learners in the EL Summer Discovery Program at CRLS. The teacher will instruct students using culturally responsive instruction and activities that celebrate the diversity and richness of our student population. Activities should create unity, community, and respect for all learners. Appropriate modifications must be planned for students with diverse linguistic and learning needs.
*Work: 25 hours per week.

- Teacher Certification in Art, ESL, and/or ELL Education preferred
- The Art education teacher will be skilled in effective instructional strategies for teaching ELLs, and culturally responsive instruction.
- The candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues, demonstrate high expectations for English language learners, be effective in working with immigrant families and create a learning environment that fosters mutual respect and cultural sensitivity.
Education: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a concentration in elementary education and teaching ELLs.
Experience: Experience teaching linguistically diverse students in an urban setting.
Languages: Proficiency in English required, fluency in a language other than English is preferred.
Length of Contract:
July 1, 2025 through August 15, 2025
Contract Amount
$50.00 hourly, not to exceed $5500.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
