Description Of Service Opportunity
As part of the Cambridge STEAM initiative, CRLS has partnered with Harvard to offer student internships at the Harvard Astrophysics Laboratory.
The teacher liaison will serve as a bridge between Harvard and CRLS. The teacher liaison will help spearhead recruitment in alignment with the Cambridge STEAM initiative; support students through the mentoring experience; and support Harvard mentors as they work with students.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited, To
Familiarity with the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, the Cambridge STEAM initiative, and high school level astronomy curriculum.
The individual will be paid a flat rate stipend of $1,500 to be paid in two equal installments near the end of each semester (December and June).

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited, To
- Working with Harvard to update the application, including updating the dates to coordinate around MCAS exams, AP exams, and other CRLS events; confirm updated flyers; and make any other needed edits.
- Update information to share with the CRLS community.
- Share information with the CRLS community through the DYK newsletter and the CRLS Science Department.
- Visit CRLS Science classes to recruit students.
- Hold information sessions for interested students, as well as application workshops, and attend a year end Symposium.
- Review applications and send emails to students invited to interview.
- Serve on the interview plan, conducting interviews, being a part of the final selection process, and sending emails to all students informing them of final decisions.
- Update the SRMP stats spreadsheet.
- Prep for and meet with SRMP mentoring team twice.
- Perform monthly check ins with each student individually and with each mentor about their team.
- Plan an outreach night.
