What are the responsibilities and job description for the K-5 CPS SUMMER Physical Education Teacher position at Cambridge Public Schools?
Description of Service Opportunity:
The CPS Summer Learning Camps are a four-week summer learning experience for selected scholars in present Grades K-5. Camps will operate at the Kennedy- Longfellow and Peabody Schools from July 7th - August 1st.
The Summer Physical Education Teacher will provide grade-specific PE classes on a rotating schedule throughout the week to students in the CPS SOARS! Camp, and ELL Enrichment Camp.
The CPS Summer PE teacher, under the direction of the Executive Director of Academics, will be responsible for:
-Providing a fun, safe, theme-based summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all students;
-Collaborate with program principals and instructional staff to design lessons that align with district provided curriculum.
-Facilitating grade appropriate physical education classes and activities for students.
Minimum Requirements:
Teachers must have the ability to teach students with a range of learning needs in multi-age classrooms. MA DESE licensure in Visual Arts, English as a Second Language, and/or Moderate Disabilities preK-8 preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
