Cambridge Village of Wilmington, an Optimal Living® retirement community is seeking an experienced Enrichment Director to join our team.
The Enrichment Director creates and develops a healthy activity enriched lifestyle for residents. This position supports the Optimal Living® philosophy. Plans and coordinates person centered and resident driven programs and activities enabling every resident to find purpose at Cambridge Village. In addition, this position is responsible for providing opportunities for socialization and relationship building. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies, trains, evaluates and maintains appropriate staffing (including volunteers) necessary to achieve department objectives.
- Based upon and understanding of the unique attributes of the residents, develop activities and opportunities to enhance enjoyment and participation in the community.
- Provide budget input and manages the annual budget to insure sufficient personnel, equipment and supplies are available to achieve program objectives.
- Periodically works evenings, weekends and holidays to provide programming.
- In collaboration with interdepartmental annual planning, develop a regular calendar of department activities that address all seven dimensions of Optimal Living® Post calendars with sufficient advance notice to allow for maximum participation and appealing to the full spectrum of resident demographics.
- Responsible for the scheduling, maintenance, and utilization of the transportation fleet, as well as supervision of drivers. The Director may be expected to drive when needed.
- Recognizing the integral role that a vibrant volunteer community plays in the achievement of Optimal Living®, the Enrichment Director develops and engages the full participation of volunteers.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years experience working as a Lifestyle/Enrichment Director.
- Associate Degree in Human Service, Therapeutic Recreation or related field preferred.
- Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activity Coordinator preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Publisher.
