Cambridge Village of Wilmington an Optimal Living Retirement Community for seniors 55 is actively hiring for a Wellness Coordinator.
The Wellness Director creates and develops a healthy, activity enriched lifestyle for residents, staff and the community at large. This position supports the Optimal Living® philosophy. Is responsible for the coordination and planning of fitness and wellness programs and activities for residents, members and staff. Examples include exercise, and personal training classes, health seminars and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administrative requirements necessary to implement program objectives including managerial, staff time tracking, clerical, scheduling, data management, maintenance and other resident need requests, communication, and information dissemination.
- Assist Wellness Department to cultivate and maintain an innovative and current program design for all group fitness classes and personal training.
- Instruct group exercise classes as needed to ensure all classes are covered. Minimum of 15 hours per week of instruction.
- Manage group exercise instructors by encouraging and providing feedback and continued ed workshops. Minimum of 10 hours of instructor led classes.
- Develop relationships with Residents. Gather and organize information on health history, lifestyles, goals, and limitations
- Coordinate, communicate, promote, and implement health screens and fitness assessments for residents.
- Assist Wellness Department with routine fitness equipment orientations for residents, staff and community members.
- Ensure all fitness assessments and evaluations are performed promptly
- Plan and execute events in coordination with Lifestyle/Enrichment Director for residents.
- Plan, organize, and lead wellness activities on and off campus
- Maintaining an open line of communication and pro-active relationship with wellness personnel and therapy group to ensure satisfaction with wellness program and services Attend therapy/community related meetings regarding residents health status
- Develop relationship with therapy patients newly released from therapy to help transition into wellness program
Entry Qualifications
- Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology Degree preferred.
- ACSM or ACE Personal Training Certification preferred.
- Proficient in personal computer to include email, internet and Microsoft Office.
- Managerial and customer service experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
