What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anesthesia Tech position at CAMC Health System?
Provide optimum assistance to the Anesthesiologist/Anesthetist through proper maintenance of equipment and supply of materials and anesthetics.
Responsibilities
- Order supplies, noncontrolled drugs, and materials for the department in a timely manner. Maintain drug par levels and stock drugs in anesthesia carts.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment.
- Pick up and deliver departmental mail as needed.
- Assist Anesthesia personnel in transporting equipment and patients.
- Prepare charts for scheduled surgeries.
- Pick up add-on schedules and schedule changes.
- Perform daily cleaning of assigned anesthesia machines and bi-monthly deep cleaning.
- Defrosts drug refrigerator.
- Check in blood for all surgeries as required.
- Serve on the call list for the area's Disaster Plan.

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
