Job Summary
The Director, Financial Operations, is a key member of the Financial Optimization team, leading and interfacing with business unit leaders and executive leadership to provide ongoing analysis, recommendations, and financial input for ongoing operations and practices for each unit identified. This role serves as a liaison between the Vandalia Accounting and Financial Reporting team, executive Finance Leadership, and operational leadership (Chief Administrative Officers, Executive Directors, etc.) to monitor and recommend areas of business optimization.
Responsibilities
1. Lead discussion and collaboration to improve operational efficiencies and margin enhancements2. Works with operational leadership on preparing and monitoring performance to budget3. Develop operations reviews and dashboards to monitor adherence to budgets4. Assist in the development of forward-looking statements and pro formas 5. Help evaluate and recommend changes to controls, workflow, etc. to further improve business operations6. With operational and financial leadership, ensure compliance and reporting deadlines are satisfied7. Exhibit and promote professional skepticism to carry out assignments and ensure high reliability in all facets8. Alongside operational and finance leaders, be able to interpret relationships, agreements, and assist in weighing any financial risk or reward9. Understand the Organization's vision, mission, and strategy; 10. Understand each business unit objectives and purposes11. Maintain awareness of minor and major events and transactions that may have business or financial implications12. Complete special projects and other duties as determined by Chief Administrative Officer or VP Finance13. Creative problem solving to encompass investigation and forward thinking resolution for implementation to mitigate problems14. Build productive customer relationships with all key stakeholders across Vandalia Health to promote and deliver a high level of proactive service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work : Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.The employee must possess / obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in : 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.5 years of progressive experience in financial operations, budgeting, or healthcare finance; preferably within a hospital or healthcare setting
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (Required) degree(s) in accounting preferred
