What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Nursing Coordinator position at CAMC Health System?
Provide timely, effective, and accurate administrative and clerical support to the staff, manager and
Directors of assigned department(s).
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance as assigned which includes scheduling meeting rooms for all of Professional Nursing and keeping minutes for all nursing council meetings.
- Answer the telephone for the department, providing assistance, referring/routing calls and taking messages as appropriate.
- Responsible for updating Nurse Central which includes keeping links, documents, and information up to date and accessible.
- Responsible for ordering supplies for Professional Nursing Department.
- Complete projects and assignments from the CNO, Directors or Educators.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to gather nursing quality data.
- Data entry and analysis for nursing quality indicators.
- Aggregates quality indicators and creates graphs/presentations for Directors and AA
- Attends nursing coordinating sessions for shared governance and maintains rooms/invites. Keeps track of distribution lists for members and guest speakers.
- Oversees agendas, meeting minutes, and attendance sheet for all shared governance meetings and uploads them to the intranet and the regulatory site.
- Works closely with retention specialist to support multiple nursing recognition events.
- Register educators and directors for conferences and continuing education as requested.
- Book travel arrangements and accommodations for directors and educators .Complete travel expense reports in accordance with accounts payable policies
- Responsible for arranging creation of multiple shared drives to better keep track of important nursing audit information as well as nursing education completion in collaboration with NM/CMCs
- Ensure educators have supplies for classes as well as book rooms for those classes to be held in
- Sort and distribute mail daily, sign for packages and orders when needed
- Maintain copiers/printers, fax machine as needed
- Maintain office supplies, keep work area and supply area organized
- Assists educators with accreditation application in accordance with PTAP guidleines

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Education
• Associate's Degree (Required) Education: Associates Degree in related field and 2 years of related experience. Substitution: May substitute 5 years relevant experience for the associate's degree and 2 years of experience.
