Job Summary
Reviews claims and payment data to ensure accurate billing to and payments from all Commercial, Managed Care and Governmental Payers to ensure compliance with all payer contracts and fee schedules. Reviews, research and documents trends with a focus on identifying charging and documentation opportunities.
Responsibilities
Payment ProcessingWork closely with Payer Contracting to ensure accurate rates and payment terms are loaded in company approved contract management systems used to monitor billing and payment activity. Ensure claims and payment data are loaded into company approved claims and payment monitoring systems and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. Monitor to ensure payments from contracted payers are timely and within contracted payment terms.ReportingReview reimbursement and variance reports to identify trends and discrepancies. Prepare detailed non-payment / underpayment reports and distributed to appropriate teams for appropriate resolution and follow-up. Review denial reports to identify trends and recommend solutions. Use company approved charge capture auditing systems to identify missed charges and work closely with various departments to resolve issues.Other DutiesAttend meetings as required and participate on committees as requested. Enhance professional growth and development through in-service meetings, educational programs, seminars, conferences, and workshops. Provide education and support to Revenue Integrity and Patient Accounting team members as directed. Actively participate in achieving Department Performance Indicators and accomplishing departmental goals. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as requested. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work : Frequent lifting and / or carrying of objects weighing up to l0lbs with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.Bachelor's Degree with (2) years of experience in an analytical or technical role and (1) year of experience in a Revenue Integrity Financial Analyst role. Extensive Excel and Powerpoint skill set.OR (10) years related experience working in a Patient Accounting position (billing / collections) and (2) years experience working in an analytical or technical role and (1) year of experience working in a Revenue Integrity Financial Analyst role. Clinical experience as well as HFMA and / or AAPC certifications may be considered in lieu of experience requirements.
