Job Summary
This externship is being offered to Students enrolled in a Surgical Technology Program.With a patient centered culture, the Surgical Technologist Extern will provide a positive experience to customers by providing surgeons with instruments and supplies, preparation of the sterile field, passing instruments, and verifying sponge, needles and instrument count. The Extern will receive an understanding of the surgical procedure and learn how to anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure. All duties are performed within OSHA, The Joint Commission, AORN, and department policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Heavy Work : Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and / or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and / or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.No previous experience required. Experience as a Clinical Assistant or LPN preferred.
