What are the responsibilities and job description for the Value Analysis Manager position at CAMC Health System?
The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Value Analysis daily operations at CAMC to support the alignment of system objectives, strategic goals, and control of system supply costs. This position will effectively plan and coordinate routine Value Analysis team meetings that will include, but not limited to, operational executives, Finance representatives, physicians, clinical leadership and associates, and Supply Chain representatives. The teams consist of MedSurg, Surgery, Cardiovascular, Cardiology / Radiology, Lab, SUDRC, Vascular Intervention, and Electrophysiology. The position will provide clinical research / benchmarks, develop and execute project time-lines, document decision making results, facilitate preparation of needed financial analytics, and manage a web link Value Analysis data and documentation repository. This position will serve as one of the 'gate keepers' for new supplies and technology entering the system. In addition, this position will coordinate new product / technology implementation with clinical and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Leads and manages multi-disciplinary project teams/clinical specialty committees responsible for product/service introductions, value analysis and utilization review consistent with policies and procedures.
- Develops strategies and identifies process improvements that are focused on substantial supply/service cost reduction, standardization and utilization, while maintaining or enhancing quality.
- Oversees opportunities and develops qualitative/quantitative analyses and methodologies for product/service utilization and cost reduction efforts focused on cost containment, utilization, waste reduction, and
- Reviews and assesses applicable financial, clinical, and operational data, as well as evidence based literature to assist teams in evaluating new supplies and new technology, using evidence based clinical data,
- Supports new product/service requestor in preparation of information/presentations and facilitates meetings between staff, physicians, and other appropriate parties in support of projects.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and healthcare system executives and staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes.
- Documents identified and implemented cost savings initiatives and audits projected utilization and actual spend.
- Participates in developing new programs, training efforts, product/service trials, departmental or organizational goals and projects, etc.
- Coordinates with Sourcing/Contracting departments within Vandalia Health System for contract opportunity, best practices, compliance targets.
- Serve as intermediary between Contract and Sourcing Managers and end users, helping to screen and analyze new product introductions.
- Assist Professional Nursing by helping to coordinate inservicing with end users for new product introductions, trials and product conversions.
- Work with Group Purchasing Organization(s) to identify cost savings opportunities, program initiatives and best practices.
- Assist the department in developing new opportunities, monitor existing strategic contracts to enhance vendor performance and fulfillment, utilizing leveraged spend, research current contracts for deeper discounts,
- Assist the department in directing a clinically focused and user driven, financially responsible product and service evaluation and selection process with a focus on utilization, waste reduction, and overall cost per
- Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences at various levels.
- Proactively improves supply product quality by coordination with VAC and Clinical Sourcing Analyst in monitoring product recalls and backorders, assisting clinical staff with appropriate actions as needed for specific
ERP, ECRI, VA Software/program, and other databases to find clinically acceptable products.
