In addition to the emotional support, you will extend to patients, you will also assist with supplies and equipment ordering, and is committed to creating a positive team environment while being a good team member.
What you will do :
- Escort patients from processing room to the exam room. Take a history of visit and chief complaints.
- Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, height and weight of all patients, and pulse as indicated. Documents vitals in patient's chart in EMR.
- Perform dipstick Urinalysis (OB), Head circ, vision and hearing (Pediatrics). Documents all findings in patient's chart in EMR.
- Translate for the provider as needed or assist with the language line.
- Keep patient flow to the provider constant, attending to the provider's needs for assistance and supplies as required, as indicated by feedback.
- Prepare patient exam rooms and assist providers during exams as requested.
- Clean and disinfect exam room after each patient and prepare rooms for next patient.
- Discharge patient and schedule next appointment.
- Maintain logbooks as designated in each department.
- Request referrals and give patient contact, prescription, x-ray, or lab requisitions ensuring process is complete.
- Provide for patient's comfort, safety and hygiene.
- Identify all patients using two indicators (name and date of birth) prior to administering care.
- Ensure patient care equipment is clean and properly stored.
- Inventory stock in each department and order supplies weekly with the supervision and approval of the nurse.
- Clean and stock all treatment rooms daily at the end of each shift.
- Follow universal precautions when administering patient care and adhere to techniques outlined in CAMcare Health Corporation Universal Precaution Policy at all times.
- Disinfect treatment rooms at the end of each shift.
- Prepare charts for all providers for the following day to include labs, x-rays, and ultrasounds.
- Perform venipuncture for routine blood work as indicated.
- Explain procedure to be performed prior to initiating blood draw.
- Seek proper assistance with difficult venipuncture.
- Responsible for the management of inventory and sterilization of all medical equipment.
- Disinfect, wash and wrap instruments for sterilization after each use in accordance with established infection control policy.
- Maintain inventory of supplies necessary, in accordance with established levels indicated.
- Maintain inventory on all instruments, as reflected by inventory logs.
- Coordinate the delivery / receipt of all instruments and equipment sent for sterilization processing as reflected by instrument log, and availability of needed instruments and equipment.
- Maintain and stock all equipment.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
- Participate in staff development and educational programs.
- Maintain CPR certification as evidenced by valid card.
- Attend all mandatory in-service sessions.
- Attend continuing education and collaborative meetings.
- Orient and trains staff as observed by nursing supervisor.
- Develop and maintains good human relations skills.
- Display a respectful, caring attitude toward patients at all times.
- Accept constructive criticism as demonstrated by positive behavior changes.
- Introduce self by name to patient / significant others throughout appointment as evidenced by feedback from patients, and as observed.
- Report all necessary information and / or unusual occurrences in accordance with established policies and procedures and notifies nursing supervisor of unusual occurrences as they develop.
- Complete incident reports immediately in all required situations.
- Report action of others which have negative impact on patient care.
- Promote and delivers optimum satisfaction to all patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you will bring :
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Rotating Saturday - 9am-1pm (as needed)
Extended Hours as needed 5pm-8pm
