Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Switcher to join our team. The Switcher will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of our [insert relevant department or area]. Responsibilities:
- Operate switcher equipment to move trailers within the facility safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of switcher equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating switcher equipment and moving trailers.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, including logging trailer numbers and locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report any issues or concerns related to equipment or operations.
- Participate in training programs to continuously improve skills and knowledge of switcher operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including switcher equipment and surrounding areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating switcher equipment required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to switcher operations.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as climb in and out of switcher equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Willingness to comply with company policies and procedures.
