Appliance Delivery Driver and Installer
Camden Appliance is a family owned and operated business with stores in Niles and Edwardsburg, Michigan. We sell major appliances including washers, dryers, freezers, ranges, dishwashers, microwaves, and refrigerators. Camdens and its customers require professional and courteous delivery people with the knowledge to handle all kinds of delivery and install situations. Training is done in house and on the trucks.

Essential Job Functions

· Travel in a 2 person Crew in a 14' Box Truck to Various homes around Michiana

· Pull, load, and deliver customer purchases in a friendly, timely, safe and efficient manner

· Keep stock of install tools/cords/accessories/etc

· Full time job that requires morning, afternoon availability (Delivery personnel work 9am-5pm, and have Sunday off and 1 day during the week off at the company's discretion)

· Deliver and transport appliances without damaging units or customers homes

· Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measures

· Understand and respond appropriately to basic customer and employee inquiries.

· Ability to read maps, follow specific delivery directions and instructions, determine cost efficient routes and time efficient scheduling of deliveries

· Use tools to install cords, gas lines, waterlines, and dryer venting on appliances and hookup to customers home

· Work in confined spaces in order to hookup appliances properly to customers home

· Move appliances from warehouse to warehouse, trucks to warehouse, warehouse to sales floor, etc.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old

Have a valid driver's license (a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required)

Have availability that includes Saturdays

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measures.

Physical ability to move large, bulky and/or very heavy merchandise.

Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Other Information

After a 2 month introductory period, starting full time employees get 5 Scheduled Paid Time Off days and 4 Sick days per year, recalculated if joining mid-year

Each year you work for us, the more PTO you can aquire

40 Hours a week, paid weekly on Wednesdays , some overtime available on occasion

Paid Major Holidays (New Years Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Memorial Day, Fathers Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day)

Delivery Drivers/Installers work as a 2 person team with a delivery Lead for the 1st year of employment. Delivery leads provide on the job training.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
