Job Details

  • Job Summary : This position is for the Advanced Care Unit (ACU) at Camden Clark Medical Center, specializing in stroke, trauma, and vascular care.
  • Unit : ACU - Advanced Care Unit (Stepdown)
  • Number of beds : 30-Beds - All private rooms
  • Patient Ratios : 1 to 4
  • Common Diagnoses : Fempops, Carotids, DKA, AKA, post caths with TR Bands & femoral access.

    • Job Requirements

  • Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are all required
  • Must have stepdown acuity experience with the types of patients on this unit
  • Ability to read strips is essential
  • Experience with titrating drips such as Cardizem, Insulin, & Heparin is required.

    • Schedule Information

  • Shift Schedule : 0700-1930; 1900-0730
  • Self-scheduling and block scheduling are allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met; block scheduling is not guaranteed.
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend; Night shifts are Fri / Sat / Sun; Day shifts are Sat / Sun
  • Holiday Requirement : Perm staff have a holiday rotation schedule; travelers may be required to work weekends if needed.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit specific orientation includes the first day with HR, clinical educator, and shadowing for the rest of the day on the unit.

    • Additional Details

  • All submittals must include an unexpired copy of the candidate's driver's license.
  • Charge Nurse available 24 / 7; may take patient assignments depending on unit needs.
  • 3 PCTs per shift with ratios of 1 : 10.
