Minimum Pay: $15.09 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for operating scales and providing assistance to customers at the county landfill.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Greets and directs customers to appropriate areas for materials disposal; provides customer service; answers telephone and provides assistance; assists with customer complaints.
- Operates a computerized scale to weigh trucks entering and leaving the landfill; collects fees and issues receipts.
- Performs load inspections to identify prohibited items.
- Balances funds at the end of the day and resolves discrepancies.
- Makes copies of bank card receipts.
- Requests new office supplies as needed.
- Maintains an accurate filing system.
- Prepares daily reports.
- Opens and closes facility at beginning and end of the day.
- Communicates with personnel via two-way radio.
- Maintains office, scale house, and equipment.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Performs other work as required or when directed by administration.
- In the event of an emergency, all Camden County employees are considered essential and may be required to perform alternate duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Administrative Coordinator assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include state EPD regulations and county and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of related customer service, administrative, and scale operation duties. Inclement weather conditions contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to perform scale operation and customer service duties. Successful performance helps the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.

- Contacts are typically with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
- Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and provide services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
