Reports to: PRODUCTION CONTROL MANAGER (PCM)
We are seeking a Sulfuric Acid Preparation Technician to join our team.
This position is responsible for the safe handling, preparation, and monitoring of sulfuric acid solutions used in our production processes. The ideal candidate has experience working with hazardous chemicals, follows strict safety protocols, and is detail-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely handle, prepare, and dilute sulfuric acid according to company specifications and safety regulations.
- Monitor and adjust chemical concentrations to ensure consistency in production processes
- Operate and maintain chemical processing equipment, including storage tanks, pumps, and mixing systems.

- Conduct routine inspections and tests (e.g., pH, concentration analysis) to maintain quality standards
- Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and company safety guidelines for hazardous chemical handling.
- Document all processes, chemical usage, and safety checks in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond to chemical spills or leaks using proper emergency procedures.
- Assist with training new employees on proper chemical handling and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or certification in chemical technology, industrial operations, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with sulfuric acid or other hazardous chemicals in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with chemical mixing, handling, and safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and HAZMAT regulations related to chemical processing.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and chemical-resistant suits.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
Work Environment:
We are a Battery manufacturing company. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with and near large machinery and equipment daily, the employee will be exposed to a variety of Health and Safety hazard and will be required to ALWAYS adhere to all Health and Safety rules and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
