Job Description:
As a Medical Assistant in our pediatric clinic, you will provide clinical support to our pediatricians and help ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. You will be responsible for assisting in both administrative and clinical tasks, contributing to the overall success of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pediatricians with patient exams and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure).
- Prepare patients for exams and provide instructions on procedures.
- Administer vaccines and medications under supervision.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Update and maintain patient records accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients.
- Assist with front desk duties, such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Previous experience in a pediatric setting is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using EHR software and office equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and patient care procedures.
