Description
Camelot Community Care's Palm Beach Child Protection Team is seeking a part time medical assistant to assist our medical staff who provide forensic medical examinations and sexual assault medical examinations. Specific duties include:
- Provide assistance to Doctor and/or Nurse Practitioner during all medical exams including forensic sexual assault medical examinations.
- Obtain victim information, medical history, height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, respirations, pulse, etc. from victims.
- Daily communication with Case Coordinators for scheduling clients
- Obtain medical records when requested
- Responsible for replenishment of clinic supplies
- Assist medical staff in gathering of evidence for rape kits, blood draws and cultures/labs for law enforcement
- Participate in after hours on-call, as scheduled
- All other duties as assigned
Candidates for this position will need to be comfortable working with children, exhibit empathy, show discretion with sensitive information, and be comfortable working with victims of abuse and neglect.
Qualifications
This position requires the following skills and certifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant with 2 years of experience in a medical practice. Pediatric experience a plus.
- Ability to work, flexible hours including being on-call
- Ability to pass a level II background screening and drug test
- Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft office products
Salary : $17 - $22
