Cameo Consulting Group, LLC a management consulting practice based out of Alexandria, VA, is seeking an available FOIA Specialist to provide Support Services to a prospective Federal client in Washington, DC. The position is long-term and available upon contract award.

Objective: The objective of this BPA is to provide Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) support services support for pending FOIA and PA requests and backlog. This BPA will provide support to two Peace Corps program offices to enhance the abilities and mission of the Peace Corps.

Responsibilities

    • Knowledge of FOIA Exemptions 1 – 9 and Exclusions 1 – 3;
    • • Knowledge of the United States Federal Law- Privacy Act of 1974;
    • • Reviewing and applying relevant knowledge of FOIA exemptions to a document with minimal revisions after Quality Control Review;
    • • Provide disclosure recommendations to PC staff after review of the responsive records with rationale for those disclosure recommendations.
    • Review incoming FOIA and PA requests.
    • Task program offices for responsive documents for FOIA and PA requests.
    • Review responsive documents to FOIA and PA requests.
    • Apply appropriate FOIA and PA exemptions to documents retrieved resulting from a FOIA and PA request.

QUALIFICATION

  • Must have a Bachelor or graduate degree from an accredited college or university,
  • 2-5 years current and relevant FOIA and PA experience.
  • Possess knowledge to propose legal interpretations regarding information disclosures and privacy concerns.
  • Knowledge of FOIA Exemptions 1 – 9 and Exclusions 1 – 3; • Knowledge of the United States Federal Law- Privacy Act of 1974; • Reviewing and applying relevant knowledge of FOIA exemptions to a document with minimal revisions after Quality Control Review; • Provide disclosure recommendations to PC staff after review of the responsive records with rationale for those disclosure recommendations
  • Demonstrates an expert knowledge of FOIA/PA and uses independent analysis to process requests.
  • Possesses the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing).
  • Must have at least 5 years of Federal Project Management Experience
