POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to analyze the financial risk for the company when establishing and approving open lines of credit to new customers. Responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring existing open lines of credit and making appropriate adjustments when necessary. Strong communication and negotiating skills are essential to handle any situation whether complex or simple. Enforce company credit policy and assure adherence to accepted company standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assess credit worthiness of new and potential customers as well as existing accounts while maximizing sales and evaluating risk of bad debt losses
- Analyze financials, balance sheets, and income statements of existing and potential customers
- Establish credit lines for customers and evaluate those lines on a yearly basis
- Monitor buying habits and payment trends of customers to reduce the company’s exposure to risk
- Enforce hold status on accounts that pay beyond acceptable terms
- Improve cash flow, evaluate exposure and expedite collection
- Work extensively with sales staff to help meet customer expectations and generate sales
- Managing customer accounts via collection and strategic planning
- Enforce credit policy and adherence to accepted company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- NACM certification preferred (CBA, CBF or CCE)
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution or construction industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of bankruptcy laws, lien laws and bond statutes
- Ability to analyze financial reports and Dunn and Bradstreet reports
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Independent decision-making capabilities
- Ability to multitask and work independently with a sense of urgency
- 3 to 5 years experience in credit and collection
- Ability to pass a drug test and background verifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
