OPERATIONS AND RECORDS MANAGER
Salary: 117 - $45,798.00 Minimum Salary, or as per Compensation Policy Promotional Method.
Purpose of Classification
The Operations & Records Manager will assist with various operations thought out all the departments of the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office. The employee will help reduce spending to maximize office efficiency and productivity. He will also improve current procedures pertaining with records and filing to improve storage space by reducing the amount of physical records and implementing digital records.
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintains and manages all office records including Refunds, Tax Liens Affidavits, Overages, Tax Rates, Monthly Checks, TABC Payment Records, NSF Reversals, as well as any Auto Registration related records. Assists in the operation of the Records Management Imaging System.
Maintains inventory of all Tax Assessor Collector's Office Files in the Records Management Warehouse; supervises and assists in the operation of the Records Management Imaging System; assists in the purchase of equipment for the Records Management Imaging System.
Oversees the preparation of Confidential files for scanning, indexing and destruction; assists in the training of part time employees assigned to the Records Management Department.
Supervises the preparation of inventory of files for scanning and destruction; picks up office supplies and distribute to different clerks; retrieves files for the tax department, makes certified copies, and mails to designated parties; assists with the verification of scanned documents.
Assists with budget management and maximizing office efficiency.
Provides customer service to the general public as well as assistance to Elected and Appointed County Officials in regards to official paperwork required to be filed in the Tax Assessor-Collector's Office.
Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding assigned Official Records functions; serves as liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other departments in regards to department policies and procedures pertaining to records and filing.

Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Business Administration, or related field; supplemented by two (2) years of experience performing secretarial and/or administrative support work in civil or criminal fields, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Tasks may involve extended periods of time climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
This is a Civil Service covered position. Probationary period will follow section 2.35 of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations Handbook.
