PRINTER
PAY PLAN: 113 -$ 37,678.00 minimum salary
Distinguishing Features of the Position (Summary)
Performs technical work in support of assigned printing programs or shop function. Duties include providing support including all type of print shop operations utilizing a variety of machinery and equipment. Positions in this class perform routine support and identify needed corrective actions to resolve discrepancies; answer printing questions; and maintains printing documents and records.
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Uses paper cutting machine, cuts paper stock to appropriate size and trims finished products as needed; uses automated folder, stitcher and collator as needed, making appropriate adjustments for job to be produced.
Utilizes automatic numbering machine for forms, which require sequential numbering; maintains print shop facility clean, neat manner, may pick up and deliver materials as needed, and perform other duties as may be assigned.
Produces high quality printed products on various paper stocks using an offset press with either metal plates or paper plates; uses Corel Draw X3, Photoshop CS3, Acrobat 8 Professional, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point.
Receives and processes printing orders for assigned departments. Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; pair documents to related information such as matching orders to invoices and/or matching payments to account files/billings, etc.
Maintains assigned inventory; prepares orders for needed materials, equipment, and supplies; receives and distributes incoming shipments.
Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding assigned printing functions; serves as liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other departments in regards to printing policies and activities. Explains policies and procedures.

Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year of experience performing technical and/or print control work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert medium physical effort in medium work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of medium weight (20-50 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
