SEASONAL GREENS GROUNDSKEEPER
SALARY: $11.00 per hour
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : The overall purpose and general responsibility
Under supervision of the Greens Supervisor. This is a non-supervisory position. Position requires manual labor tasks as needed related to maintenance, landscaping, and light construction duties. Maintain a cleaning schedule of park grounds and park property.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS : General point of contact
Reports to the Greens Foreman.
Communicates with the public, supervisors, and other park employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : The fundamental duties and tasks which define the job
Performs general duties such as; mowing, weedeating, landscaping, tree pruning, hedge trimming, emptying trash cans, litter collection in and around park grounds, pavilions and parking lots. Other duties may include restroom maintenance, cleaning and stocking with cleansers and toiletries. Load and unload materials and equipment. Perform insect control with pesticides and insecticides. Sweep and wash down sidewalks and parking areas when needed. Other duties as may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The requirements necessary to fulfill the job expectations
Education and Experience :
Must have a minimum of six months experience in grounds keeping and enjoy working with the public. Will be working in an outdoor setting. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers's License and have a good driving record. Ability to speak English/Spanish is desirable. References will be thoroughly checked.
Licenses and/or Certifications :
Valid State of Texas Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to follow oral instructions. Must be able to perform strenuous work in an outdoor setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both in both English and Spanish. Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other employees.
Physical Demands :
Physical requirements may include lifting /carrying up to 50 lbs. Subject to handling, sitting walking, standing, bending, reaching and twisting to perform the essential job functions.
Working Condition : (describe working environment and other conditions of employment.)
Working conditions are primarily outdoors. Will be required to drive county owned vehicles and other equipment as needed. Weekend, Holiday, and evening work required.
This is not a Civil Service covered position.
Temporary employees are not eligible for health and retirement benefits.
