Job Description
As a Residential Youth Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision of residents in a residential care setting. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, while also promoting their personal growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to residents in daily activities, including education, arts, and outdoor programs.
- Assign and supervise residents in daily housekeeping details, ensuring accountability and maintaining a safe, clean, and secure environment.
- Implement treatment plans, disciplinary strategies, and intervention programs to address resident needs and promote positive behavior.
- Facilitate cognitive skill groups and teamwork activities to foster social skills and emotional intelligence.
- Observe and document resident behavior, maintaining discipline and control through consistent enforcement of rules and regulations.
- Summarize incidents and complete written reports, using data from direct witnessing or other sources.
- Provide individual and crisis coping techniques, such as de-escalation skills, to maintain control and alleviate resident anxieties.
- Monitor security systems, including closed-circuit monitors, and transport residents to off-site locations as required.
- Maintain communication with staff to ensure continuity of care and participate in committees and special projects.
- Assist in investigating incidents involving residents and adhere to professional conduct and ethical standards at all times.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Current Texas Driver's License and automobile insurance.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
- Pass a drug urinalysis pre-screening exam and criminal background check.
- Hold a valid Juvenile Supervision Officer Certification, CPR Certification, and Handle with Care (HWC) State Approved Restraint Technique Certification.
