What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer I position at Cameron LNG LLC?
Primary Purpose:
The Project Engineer will be in charge of general engineering, procurement, construction supervision and Operations support to the Cameron LNG facility for all Capital Projects for both the Home Office and Site. The Project Engineer will also be responsible for schedule and budget for all projects under his/her direction. The Project Engineer will gain knowledge of design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of equipment and other process units within LNG Plant, also understanding of all facets of LNG processing, storage and transportation, including health, safety, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards as well as knowledge of FERC, USCG, DOT and OSHA regulations through development programs.
This position is located in Hackberry, LA. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is required. Employees’ primary residence must be located within a one-hour drive from the Hackberry plant site. This measure will assure that response time for callouts is kept to a minimum, which increases the safety of our employees in an unexpected or emergent situation.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Coordination of capital project technical activities including but not limited to scoping, planning, costing and scheduling.
- Follow CPMM (Cameron LNG Project Management Methodology) to execute capital projects via a stage-gated delivery approach.
- Assist on internal evaluation of proposed capital projects and coordination with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Safety prior to sanctioning projects. This includes participation in five-year planning.
- Participate in pre-qualification of contractors and sub-contractors prior to any request for bids and provide input in the monitoring of contractors and sub-contractors performance throughout the life of the projects.
- During design: conduct and assist in in-house design or oversee external engineering firms contracted by CLNG, also provide company engineering design input to the contractors for adherence to LNG codes and other relevant standards.
- During fabrication and procurement: coordinate closely with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Manufacturers, and Fabricators for on-time and quality delivery and provision of proper documentation.
- During construction/implementation: work closely with other departments and contractors for safe, on time, on budget delivery of the projects. Supervision of the construction quality and adherence to specifications within a safe work environment of all the contractors and subcontractors is a must.
- During project completion and close out: ensure all redlines are complete, As-Builts are finalized, stored in OpenText, lessons learned are captured and all invoices are paid.
- Participate in a multi-discipline team of professionals that provide Company support, monitoring, reporting, and project controls related to the project.
- Participate in the development of engineering specifications and provide support and quality assurance in the procurement of material, equipment, and services to ensure conformity with sound engineering practice and cost effectiveness.
- For all projects, participate in the Management of Change process for all systems and existing plant modifications, review and provide input to changes through the change order process, and verify that documents and drawings are up to date.
- Keep the Facilities Projects Manager informed of any technical, schedule, or cost impacts to other project tasks & activities.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
Internship or Co-op Engineering experience in a process plant environment would be a plus.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Most activities involve movement of either the upper and lower body extremities or both and the joints associated with these areas of the body.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft to 200 ft.
- Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment such as safety harness, respirator, and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
- When outdoors, this classification is exposed to extremes of heat, cold, loud noise and dust.
- Must be able to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be willing to be on call, work outside of normal business hours as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
