Qualifications
Experience
- Two years previous billing experience or equivalent
- Cash posting knowledge
Skills/Competencies
- Strong clerical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent telephone etiquette and oral communications skills
Education Required
- High School Diploma or GED
JOB SUMMARY
A Billing Representative is responsible for submitting medical claims to insurance companies and payers such as Medicare and Medicaid. A Biller must keep Cameron’s financial interest at the forefront, while advocating for the patient, all while being compliant with billing rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claims for processing
- Call insurance companies regarding discrepancies in payments, denials, and missing information
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Work credits, claim edits and follow up WQ’s assigned
- Post required adjustments as identified
