Summary/Objective
The Floorcare Technician II is a member of the multi-disciplinary team of Environmental Services Professionals that work to provide a safe environment, conducive to healing by maintaining the physical environment of the hospital at the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation. They are responsible for maintaining carpet and various hard floor surfaces, floor finishing and other detail projects to build confidence and trust in the integrity of the Cameron facilities.
Essential Functions
- Master and perform all essential functions that fall under an Environmental Technician I Description
- Exemplifies good customer service -Interacts professionally while maintaining effective communication and good working relationships, representing the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Follows procedures according to manufacturers’ recommendations per hospital setting.
- Schedules and organizes workload so as to facilitate timely effective regular maintenance of hospital floor surfaces.
- Ensures that stripper, sealer, and wax is neatly applied to maintain appearance of baseboards, doors, walls, etc.
- Maintain inventory of EVS and floor care equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Provides spot cleaning and full carpet extraction using appropriate procedures, equipment, and chemicals.
- Actively monitors and provides basic floor care maintenance knowledge and equipment use and care training to all Environmental Services employees to maintain a unified approach to floor care maintenance.
- Maintains working knowledge and skills required for assisting and performing various functions of environmental services and linen areas as required.
- Willingness to provide coverage for team member shortages
Qualifications
Experience
- One-year commercial floor Care
- Experience using various Floor care equipment including, auto scrubbers, swing machines, high speed buffers, extractors or similar
Skills/Competencies
- Experience using various Floor care equipment including, auto scrubbers, swing machines, high speed buffers, extractors or similar
Education
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Licenses
- None
Certifications
- Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred.
