JOB TITLE: Patient Care Technician
SHIFT: FTE 0.6 Part-time, 48 hours Bi Weekly

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a patient care tech and/or unit secretary preferred.
- Certified in BLS within one month of hire date.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
JOB SUMMARY
This dual role position will be trained in both essential job functions/responsibilities for flexibility to meet department needs as directed by the RN. Unit secretary assists with the clerical and administrative duties. Patient care technician assists with patient care and department activities as directed by the RN. Employees are expected to have knowledge of, promote, and support Cameron’s Guiding Principles and Values.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
As Patient Care Tech:
- Exemplifies excellent customer service.
- Regular reliable attendance.
- Ability to get along with others.
- Demonstrates proficiency of electronic health record and use of email.
- Attends at least 75% of meetings. Participates in unit meetings and educational offerings in order to maintain and enhance current knowledge and skills.
- Directs patients to treatment areas and visitors to lobby.
- Monitors and records patient vital signs.
- Assists nursing staff with patient care.
- Checks, cleans and restocks patient care areas.
- Cleans instruments and work areas at end of shift.
- Cleans store room weekly and monthly according to policy.
- Orders supplies as needed.
- Familiar with fire, disaster, tornado, bomb threat and Haz Mat procedures.
- Maintains Standard Precautions.
