DEPARTMENT: Urgent Care
JOB TITLE: Patient Registrar
SHIFT: .9 FTE, 72 Hours Bi-Weekly, Days, three (3) 12 hour shifts biweekly, every other weekend.
BENEFITS: This is a full time, benefit eligible position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate.
- Proficient in use of computer
- Clerical skills.
- Good communication skills-written and verbal.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs patient access functions by successfully entering correct and adequate patient information into the EPIC system to facilitate the billing process. Offers direction to visiting clinic patients and callers. Performs cashier functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Exemplifies good customer service.

- Demonstrates proficient use of email. Demonstrates professional phone etiquette.
- Interviews/registers all patients upon admission. Verifies patient identity using date of birth, name, and social security number when registering. Confirms patient demographics. Obtains signatures on electronic consent form.
- Scans all required documents for registration.
- Verify that patient was registered correctly and documentation on medical record is accurate.
- Prepares preliminary deposit reconciliation. Balances cash drawer and completes shift report.
- Will maintain allowable rate for registration errors according to the Registration Error policy.
- Discharge patients and collects patient related payments including insurance co-pays and payment deposit.
- Keeps waiting area orderly and presentable.
- Verifies all worker’s compensation and pre-employment visits with companies. Utilizes company profile manual. Has good knowledge of drug screen paper trail and tests.
- Assists patients and guests by directing them to the proper clinic area.
- Access patient records from EPIC per protocol or with physician’s request.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Registration Team Leader.
- Retrieves all medical record requests faxed from the Medical Records department according to policy.
- Calculates KPI metric and documents on gemba board daily.
