JOB TITLE: Radiology Apprentice
SHIFT: PRN, Part-time As Needed

QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited radiology program and in the final year of training (2nd year student).
- Must have current CPR certification.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Technical Director and the Radiologist, by an order from a physician, to perform procedures. Work as a radiologic technologist when not performing specialized procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
1Produce quality radiographs with general supervision of registered technologist.
- Follows established protocols to produce complete examinations.
- Manages productivity by working in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrates ability to adjust work pace to accommodate for changes in patient volumes.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Provides appropriate information for securing informed consent for procedures and/or contrast.
- Adheres to HIPPA rules by ensuring protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, electronic or oral disclosure.
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintains organization in assigned room; does not leave a room disorganized following use and restocks supplies, as necessary.
- Professionally accommodates schedule and shift changes due to change in staff, vacations, holidays, illness or team needs.
- Professionally performs any task or work assignment sa directed by Imaging Manger/Imaging Director.
- Demonstrates safe positioning and patient handling techniques.
- Practices radiation protection and quality control minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients and personnel.
- Demonstrates professionalism in manner and attire.
- Keeps patients and family members informed about procedure length, excessive wait times and when appointment times cannot be met.
- Professionally interacts with various departments, as needed to ensure smooth flow of patient services.
- Observes all safety and hygiene rules/regulations.
- Contributes to performance improvement at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital.
Requirements
Must have and maintain current Indiana Student Radiographer License and be currently enrolled in final year of training in an accredited radiology program, pursuant to Indiana State Law.
