Position Summary
As the Director of Agriculture in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry, you will spearhead the development and execution of a strategic business plan to establish a centralized Agri-lab and expand the organization’s presence in the agricultural sector. This leadership role will focus on driving customer acquisition, ensuring operational excellence, and overseeing the quality assurance and regulatory compliance of agricultural products. Key responsibilities will include developing and implementing testing protocols, managing inspection processes, and ensuring adherence to certification standards. The Director of Agriculture will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Business Development, and Quality Assurance, to uphold the highest standards of product quality and safety.

- Strategic Leadership:
- Build a business plan to establish a centralized, US based Agri lab and expand its reach across multiple regions.
- Develop and implement business strategies that drive growth, market share, and profitability in the agriculture sector.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities within agricultural testing, including sustainability initiatives, food safety, and new regulatory requirements.
- Lead geographic expansion efforts and establish new market presence, partnerships, and alliances.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the agriculture division, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Drive operational efficiency and quality improvements in testing laboratories, inspection services, and certification processes.
- Ensure best-in-class service delivery, maintaining and enhancing company reputation in the TIC industry.
- Business Development:
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including agricultural producers, exporters, government bodies, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify new business opportunities, lead proposal development, and negotiate high-value contracts.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop offerings that meet customer needs and regulatory demands.
- Regulatory and Compliance Management:
- Ensure full compliance with international agricultural standards (e.g., ISO, Global GAP, GFSI, etc.) and relevant local regulations.
- Stay up to date on evolving regulations affecting agriculture trade, environmental sustainability, and food safety.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and manage a team of managers, scientists, and specialists in agriculture testing, inspection, and certification as the business scales.
- Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and innovation within the division.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability of the agriculture division.
- Provide financial forecasts and performance reports for executive leadership.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Food Science, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) desired.
- 8 years of experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or food safety industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the TIC sector.
- Proven track record in business development, operational management, and business leadership.
- Deep knowledge of agricultural supply chains, food safety standards, and sustainability practices.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations (ISO, USDA, FDA, EU standards) and certification schemes.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed. Knowledge of the TIC industry or related sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Travel
- Flexibility to work across time zones and handle occasional travel, if required (expected travel ≤ 30% on an annual basis).
