What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Nurse position at Camp Allen?
Camp Allen is a residential Christian summer camp located 1 hr northwest of Houston, TX. We are hiring a team of RN’s, for several positions, to join our 2023 summer camp team. There are 8 camp sessions lasting one week each (Sun-Sat). Assigned nurses will live on-site during their time of employment and will undergo site-specific training prior to service.
Applicants must be an RN with an up-to-date TX license or certified compact license to work in Texas. CPR for Health Care Providers is also required. Applicants should enjoy working with children, be gracious and flexible team members, and model professional/ethical behavior at all times while building strong relationships with our wider camp community.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Coordinate health and safety concerns for the camping program
- Provide emergency and non-emergency care to campers and staff
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers should the need arise
- Secure and distribute all prescription medications brought by campers
- Restock first aid supplies throughout the campus.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records of care provided
- Maintain active communication with camper parents
Room and board are provided for all seasonal employees in our beautiful Camper Health Center, and on-site transportation is available. Nurses who have children eligible for a camp session will receive discounted tuition.

Pay: $800.00 - $900.00 per week
