Kennel Assistant / Camp Counselor
Camp Bow Wow Port Charlotte is a premier doggy day care and overnight boarding facility. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for dogs to play, romp and receive lots of love and attention!
We are looking to hire fun, energetic, and hardworking staff who LOVE dogs! Camp Counselors support the daily operations by overseeing the interactive behaviors of all dogs and by maintaining a clean and safe facility.
Full time and part time positions are available! We are open 365 days a year so availability on weekends and holidays is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor dogs of all sizes in our indoor and outdoor play yards
- Clean and disinfect the kennels
- Work in a fast-paced environment and interact with other team members
- Work with a diverse group of people.
- Constantly walking and interacting with dogs.
- Keep detailed records of dogs and their needs.
- Provide Baths, Nail trims, de-sheds and 1:1 Playtimes as requested by pet parents
- Provide excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and safe environment!
- Be active and attentive to dogs and pet parents at all times
Essential Skills:
- Extremely energetic, outgoing, upbeat with a positive personality.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace, in a team environment, and have exceptional customer service skills!
- Must be dependable and show up on time for scheduled shifts
- Team Player
- Good Communication Skills
- MUST LOVE DOGS - the noise, the hair, the messes, the love, and the smiles!
Requirements:
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
· At least 17 years or older.
· Be able to lift dog food and supplies.
· Constantly walk and/or stand entire shift. Must be able to stand for 3-4 hours.
· Must have reliable transportation.
Availability: Full time & Part time
Monday – Saturday (Typical Shifts) :
· Opening Shifts: 6:45 am to 1 pm
· Closing Shifts: 1 pm to 7:30pm
Sunday (Split Shifts): 7:20 am – 11:15 am & 3:20 pm – 7:15 pm
Must be able to work a minimum of 1 Sunday a month.
Experience:
- Previous experience in pet care, animal care, or veterinary assistant role is preferred but not required. Pay will be based upon experience.
- Knowledge of animal behavior is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 35 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with animal care.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
