What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Assistant - Camp Canadensis - Poconos PA position at Camp Canadensis?
Camp Canadensis, located in the Pocono Mountains of PA, is a co-ed, residential summer camp for children ages 7-16. Join our Operations Team, helping to manage our Retreat Center and Summer Camp operations. This position would run from April 23rd – September 16th however we can be flexible on dates if possible.
This is a unique position that has a high impact on the overall camp community. For part of the season, you are the main supervisor for 40 staff that work for our retreat center, which hosts an array of groups and events. During this time we are also setting up the camp facility, performing various maintenance tasks, housekeeping, and more.
For the other part of the season, you are a supervisor for our Operations Department for our summer camp program, a facility that houses over 900 people for seven weeks. You’ll serve as the first level supervisor overseeing our Support Staff. The Support Staff team consists of 40 people including our maintenance/ trash, laundry/housekeeping, security, and kitchen staff.
While this is a management position, it’s a hands-on job that will require you to get your hands dirty and be fully involved in the mix.
