What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Services Manager for Camp position at Camp Cavell?
Job to start June 2025-August 2025
Escape the Ordinary: Become Camp Cavell's Health Care Hero on the Shores of Lake Huron!
Tired of the same routine? Yearning for a role where your skills truly matter in a breathtaking setting? Camp Cavell, a beloved three-season camp with over 100 years of history in the Metropolitan Detroit community, invites a compassionate and skilled Health Care Manager/Camp Nurse to join our vibrant summer family starting in June 2025. Every weekend is off to spend with friends and family and if you have a family- your kids attend camp free (minus the deposit)!
Imagine your "office" being nestled within 55 acres of natural beauty, boasting 1,800 feet of stunning Lake Huron shoreline in Lexington, Michigan. More than just a job, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a unique culture of care and connection, supporting both our dedicated staff and the incredible children we serve – many of whom come from underserved backgrounds and benefit immensely from our outdoor programs, ranging from archery to technical tree climbing.
As our Health Care Manager, your expertise in supervising health and cleanliness standards will be paramount. You'll work collaboratively with the Camp Director and staff to ensure a healthy and safe environment for everyone.
What makes this opportunity special?
- Unlock Your Summer Savings: Enjoy onsite room and board (including all your meals!) for the approximate 3-month duration of the season. Think of what you can do with those extra savings!
- Nature as Your Neighbor: Live and work amidst the tranquility and beauty of Lake Huron – a truly restorative experience.
- Purpose-Driven Work: Directly contribute to the well-being of children and adults from diverse backgrounds, providing essential support and care.
- A Close-Knit Crew: Become part of a passionate and supportive camp community that feels more like family. We also welcome your family! (Please note: This role focuses on health care and camper/staff supervision in the health lodge, not cabin responsibilities.)
If you are a licensed Registered Nurse (or equivalent) with a passion for helping others and a desire for an unforgettable summer experience, we want to hear from you!
