The role of the Aquatics Supervisor is to lead the Aquatics team in providing a safe and fun experience at our Aquatic Center and pond; as well as being responsible for overseeing and facilitating our instructional swim program. In addition, the Aquatic Supervisor will provide support to the camp leadership in supervising camp groups.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall Aquatic management of lifeguards, camp swim lessons, and safety of the pools, pond, and other water activities.
- Supervision of the lifeguard team at the Aquatic Center and Pond or other water activities.
- Maintenance of the pool and pool area for cleanliness, organization, free of litter, and safety.
- Work closely with the camp leadership on scheduling/activities.
- Ensure an accurate pool check record is maintained on a daily and weekly basis.
- Organize and lead a variety of small and large group water activities each week.
- Lead swim instructor to instruct age-appropriate swimming skills to campers based on guidelines by the ARC.
- Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
- Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to camp leadership.
- Help guide Lifeguards and Swim Instructors to have a deeper understanding of leadership and counseling skills.
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas, including but not limited to enforcing pool rules and safety procedures.
- Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Be flexible and fill in where needed.

Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 yrs old.
- High School Diploma, Bachelor’s preferred.
- 2 years experience working with children or in the area of instruction.
- 1-3 years of leadership and supervisory experience, preferred.
- 1-3 years of aquatic experience.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement program activities.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with independence, motivation, and responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Must have valid certification for the duration of the summer session in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training AND Water Safety Instruction (WSI).
- Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certifications and/or Lifeguard/WSI Certifications at time of hire or able to obtain before session start date.
- Must be able to obtain Background Clearances, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearances, and Mandated Reporter Training (will change with regulations).
Additional Information
Camp Curiosity will be hosting a CPR and Lifeguard Certification class in June 2025, dates TBD.
