Day Camp Counselors Needed for June 9 -27!
Applicants must be 18 or older.
Hours: June 9th - 27th; Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4:15PM
(3 weeks - Seasonal Hire)
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors. As a Camp Counselor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children while creating a fun and engaging camp experience. This is a seasonal position that requires a passion for working with children and providing a safe and nurturing environment.
*Mandatory Training (paid) - May 29th, June 3rd, and June 5th from 1pm to 5pm!*
Duties:
- Attend all training and/or meetings prior to, and during, Day Camp.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts for campers
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their social, emotional, and physical development
- Assist with organizing and implementing daily schedules and routines
- Assist in behavior management for all campers in accordance with all policies and procedures set by Camp Fire North Texas.
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a cohesive team
Knowledge/Abilities:
- Experience working with children in theater, tutoring, coaching, or classroom management setting preferred
- Ability to stretch, bend, stoop, lift, and walk on uneven terrain in a variety of environments and weather.
- Ability to engage and connect with children of various ages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sports coaching or experience working with students is a plus
-Must pass all background checks and drug testing.
-Must be at least 18 years old
Work Environment:
This is an outdoor camp - all hours worked are outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be continually exposed to outdoor weather conditions. It is the duty and responsibility of the employee to notify Camp Fire North Texas of any medical issues that may interfere with the required duties listed above.
