Summary
The Ranch Staff works with supervision from the Equine Supervisor & Equine Coordinator to maintain a clean, safe, and fun environment at the ranch, where children and adults, many with disabilities, receive therapeutic horsemanship and outdoor education.
Requirements
List of Essential Duties
· Feed and water horses
· Safety check stalls, pastures, arenas, and grounds
· Maintain barns
o Clean stalls, buckets, equipment, and cages
o Keep floors clean
· Move horses and small animals to rotate pastures
· Clean tack, arenas, grounds, and feed rooms
· Move equipment
· Drive tractor, gator, mule, and other similar vehicles
· Assist with Ranch and Barnyard Programs
o Enforce Traditions
o Recognize and correct/report potential safety hazards
o Learn and recognize disabilities and related distress triggers
o Leading or supervising riders
o Lead Barnyard Program
· Follows all safety standards set by Camp For All and the Equine Supervisor in accordance with Texas Department of Health, American Camping Association, and OSHA
· Follows a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form including, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and safety rules
· Maintains flexible work schedule with the ability to work weekends or evening hours
Education/ Experience Requirements
· Pursuing or obtained high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent
· 1-3 years’ experience on a working ranch (including FFA, 4-H, or Pony Club experience)
· Experience working with special needs populations a plus
· Valid Texas driver’s license required
