What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Nurse or Physician position at Camp High Rocks?
Camp High Rocks has camp nurse or physician positions open for its summer sessions in 2025. Founded in 1958, High Rocks has approximately 160 campers (ages 8-16) per session and a staff of 70.
Responsibilities: include maintaining accurate records, medication administration, parent communication, and monitoring the health of both campers and staff. Nurses also check-in and maintain our field first aid kits. We work closely with our local pediatric group located in Brevard who is available for consultation. The nearest hospital is located just 8 miles from camp.
Minimum requirements include an RN and genuine interest in children. Preference is given to RNs with camp experience, school nurses, PAs, and Physicians.
Benefits: Weekly salary is $1300 determined by experience and qualifications. Applicants that can provide a "trade for services" for a child you would like to bring as a camper are also encouraged.
Other benefits include room, board, and free laundry facilities. We are looking to fill positions in the following session:
July session: June 30 to July 26 (four weeks)
