Waterfront Director – Summer 2025
Location: Catskill Mountains, NY (Onsite)
Job Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Contract Dates: July 21 – August 11, 2025
Compensation: $1,600 – $1,800 for three weeks
Camp Jamison is seeking a certified Waterfront Director to oversee swimming and boating during our overnight summer camp. We serve primarily Black and Brown youth from Philadelphia and are committed to joy, peacebuilding, and leadership through nature.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all lakefront and boating activities
- Manage and schedule lifeguard
- Implement bather safety systems (buddy board, accountability)
- Conduct swim tests (if qualified)
- Maintain safety logs, certifications, and compliance with NYSDOH regulations
Requirements:
- At least 21 years old
- Current certifications in Lifeguard Supervision, CPR, and First Aid
- Must meet one of the following NYSDOH experience requirements:
- 1 season as a camp aquatics director
- 2 seasons (12 weeks) as a lifeguard at a multi-guard site
- 18 weeks total lifeguarding at a pool/lake with multiple guards
- Bonus: Progressive Swimming Instructor Certification
