Overnight Summer Camp Nanny
Camp JCA Shalom, located in Angeles National Forest, California is hiring full-time nannies for our sleep-away summer camp. Nannies provide childcare for the young children of camp staff members. You’ll have the opportunity to experience all that summer camp has to offer while having a slower pace with younger children.
We are looking for enthusiastic nannies with experience in any type of childcare setting, including home, camp, daycare, preschool, elementary school, before/after school program, etc) and a desire to bring support to parents at camp. The job would include doing activities with the children including arts and crafts,playing on the playground, facilitating nap time, to helping with meals. As children of camp staff, the parents will be on site almost the whole time.

To be considered for employment, applicants must be available to work our full season from June 2- August 3, 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have experience working with young children
- Available during camp dates (June 2 - August 3) tentative upon interview
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors
- Understanding of Shalom Institute Mission/Vision Statement
- Ability to carry out programming of Camp JCA Shalom
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Ability to assist in teaching an activity
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- Ability to maintain health and safety of children and of self at all times
- High school graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years of age

Compensation:
This role includes accommodation and meals at camp
Essential Responsibilities:
- Physically able to accompany children at all activities.
- Be able to communicate with children and provide instructions.
- Visual ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
- Ability to observe child behavior, assess appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
- Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve children(s) ability and development objectives.
